I was notified today that in recognition of my blues music and my promotion of blues around the world, I have been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame as Ambassador for New Zealand.
To say that I am stunned and thrilled and honored doesn't even come near............
This is an immense honor for me in my little corner of the world and I can only say
that I will continue to promote the Blues and music and of course the Blues Hall of Fame
wherever I can!!
My latest adventure is my music talk show called Tommie Talks Music and my very first
episode is now live on the net thanks to a lot of help from Womens Radio and a very
helpful first guest in the form of Brian Ball!

Released in May 2010 although written a long while ago, this song was featured on
The Jazz Network Worldwide and on Venture Radio UK' Jazz Lounge and
subsequently went on to chart in Chile and France.
This was my last release in May 2010 and the song has flown around the world,
featuring on Jazz and Blues radio and the video made the Hall of Fame on
Starwing Radio.
I love the dancers on this - took some time to get this just right1
Pleased to say that my song Break It To Me Gently just went to the number one place on the Song Vault blues showcase and.........Don't Send Me to Hell is at number two!!
And my song Can't Leave You Alone is at number seven in the blues finals chart there , plus I have another 6 songs further down the chart.
So I owe everyone who voted for me a huge thankyou - plus I also need to say thankyou for the fact that I have now been number one blues artist in New Zealand on the Reverbnation chart for over 12 months now. Hits on my music player on there are in excess of 107000 which is quite amazing to me.
The Jazz Network Worldwide have selected Won't See Me For Dust for their spotlight for the whole of March and the video I made for the song is now featured also on there, plus it's featured on Parway Radio livestream site also.
Coming up shortly is St. Patrick's Day and I've been selected to be featured in the online music magazine Artsees Diner with an article I wrote about Ireland and also with my Irish song Macushlah. So a thankyou to them to and to all the Irish radio stations that are featuring me in their St. Pat's day celebrations.

My song Won't See Me For Dust is now in
the spotlight on The Jazz Network Worldwide
for the whole of March, following on the
success of You're a Liar which has been
featuring there since the beginning of the year.
I'm honored as an Indie Blues artist that
the Jazz Network choose to give me this
opportunity
http://www.thejazznetworkworldwide.com
and I now have a video for the song which
I really really like!
Big thankyou to Pip with help
for some of the graphics.
Won't See Me For Dust written performed and produced by Tommie Brewster

I'm still featured in the spotlight on The Jazz Network Worldwide with an article about my journey so far and with my latest song You're A Liar http://www.thejazznetworkworldwide.com but I also just received notification that the Global Jazz Network are so impressed with my music that they have decided to add me to their "Legends and All Stars" section on their main site!!! I love Jazz ( I love rock too!) but my released music is of course Blues and so this is doubly amazing to me! Thankyou so so much to the Global Jazz Network for honoring me in this way. My latest song 'You're A Liar' was born out of passion and heartbreak and has waited a while for me to let it out into the world, but it brings me such things as this!! http://theglobaljazznetwork.ning.com/
Video to accompany my new release You're A Liar
out 4th Jan and featured for January on
The Jazz Network Worldwide.......
This is my latest release and is a strong blues ballad which I love..........
I wanted the production to make the song sound lonely but passionate and
so I only have piano bass and drums but then I added some guitar and harmonica -
and I particularly like the guitar outro.
The video is playing on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZa5DDbWots

Gypsy Genes Blues © 2007 by E Shasta Bates Mountain Thunder Music (BMI)
1.) Might be headin’ back now -to California - maybe down to Nashville Tennesee
Be leavin’ by early mornin’ - the open road is where I’m bound to be -
Seems I’ve always been a gypsy - It’s been bred into my genes -
I’ll be drivin’ my old jalopy - into the shadows of my dreams -
Well, I’ll drive all day and by the late night light of the moon -
Listen to the late night talk show - talk about the latest doom -
Then I’ll twist it around in my head - and write a new tune -
2.) Got no Bible - got no paycheck - headin’ ’cross the USA -
I may pass my hat in your town - then just like smoke I’ll fade away -
Seems I’ll always be a gypsy - I can’t wear out these gypsy genes -
I’ll be roamin’ the hills and valleys - searchin' for that lost Gypsy Queen -
Yeah, I got those - movin’ on gypsy genes ramblin’ in my veins -
They’re rumblin’ out of control - just like runaway trains -
And they just keep makin’ me play these old - gypsy games -
(Instr.)
Yeah, I guess I’ll never wear out these old gypsy shoes -
Wanderin’ around in my head - paying all these gypsy dues -
So I can sing to you - these sweet gypsy blues - So I can sing to you - these sweet gypsy blues -
