Attention Die Hard Americana lovers...Meet Your New Favorite Nashville Artist
Kokomo Joe - Americana Soul
I first heard Americana Soul Artist Kokomo Joe during a loud, crowded writers night.
People were everywhere, mingling, talking, and barely paying attention to the performers
on stage. Then, as Kokomo opened his mouth and started to sing in his soft, soulful voice
the first verse of "Cruel Truth," the crowd silenced. You could have heard a pin drop. His
voice, raspy yet somehow smooth and calming captivates absolutely every audience he
performs in front of. The powerful words in his songs are deep and insightful; the type of
lyrics that the listener gets more out of each time they listen.
Kokomo says he writes, "What my eyes see." He states, "I make a point of knowing
what is going on in the world and I write about it." Kokomo has a gift of writing lyrics
that express social issues others rarely address. "I feel that if more songwriters would
write about poverty and the injustice that exists in the world, it would help get others to
recognize and possibly provide more concern with these issues."
On January 22, Kokomo celebrated the release of his self-titled debut album. The release
party, held at Picks music venue proved quite a success. Manager Kathy Price with Red
Snow Music Group, states she is excited about Kokomo's music being more available to
the public at large now the CD is released. Want a copy for yourself? The CD is available
for purchase on CDBaby, ReverbNation, and Digstation.
By now you’re thinking, “I want to hear this guy, when is his next show?” Kokomo
plays March 3,2010 at Belmont University - Curb Cafe 7-10. The show has no cover, so there
is no reason not to come out and hear this amazing artist perform. Mark your calendars
and we’ll see you there. http://www.myspace.com/redsnowmanagement
